Always wanted to have a prime lens that is wider than my XF 18mm F2. After seeing some photos produced from Samyang 12mm F2 for Fujifilm X-mount, I decided to get a used one from local photography forum. Quite a sturdy lens when first mounted on my X-E1. Not extremely sharp, so you won’t be satisfied when pixel peeping, but it’s good enough for casual use. The not-so-sharp character actually gives the photos some analog feel. It’s also suitable for street photography as you can get really up close to a subject by pointing the lens to a direction that is not toward that subject, making the subject think you’re not shooting him/her/them.
With it’s 21mm full frame equivalent focal length, the lens is quite suitable for shooting from the hip on the street by zone focusing.
